The 67th independence parade was observed in a grand style at Ohenegyan park.
Participants were carefully selected across thirty schools in the municipality both public and private schools.
With regard to the security parade, contingent from the Ghana arm forces, Ghana police service, fire service, Ghana Immigration service and some cadet coups displayed their marching skills.
The award winners were as follows:
Senior high schools category
1st position – Kwarteng Ankumah
2nd position – Gyarko community senior high.
3rd position – Yeboah Asuamah senior high school.
Junior high schools category
1st position- kalakuta international School
2nd position- Fatima virtue international School.
3rd position- Techiman Ahmadiyya B primary school.
Primary category-
1st position- Dominion international School*
2nd position- Pentecost preparatory school
3rd position- St. Dominic Basic school.
Dignitaries present at the high table included:
the Bono East Regional minister, Hon. Kwasi Adu Gyan, MCE for Techiman municipal, Hon. Benjamin yaw Gyarko.
The Regional Education director Mrs Effua A. D. Amuah, Regional Police commander, COP Amanneng
Regional Immigration commander, Regional fire commander, as well as the Regional NIB boss, among others.
Nananom and queen mothers from the palace where also present to grace the occasion.
