Government of Ghana through the Ministry of food and Agriculture started the registration and distribution of free fertilizer to farmers nationwide.
The Techiman municipal director of agriculture, Mr. Stephen Aidoo said, so far, the municipality has received one thousand one hundred and one (1,101) varieties of fertilizers to be distributed to farmers in the municipality.

He stated that under the (PFJ) 2.0 (phase II) government had made provisions for each farmer two bags of NPK fertilizer, one bag of Urea, and 10kg of hybrid maize seeds to be received free of charge to
cover one Acre of farmland.
He was quick to add that farmers that have more than one Acres and needs more fertilizer are advice to register with the Agric extension officers to purchase more from the registered input dealers.
In his remarks, the municipal chief executive, Hon. Benjamin Yaw Gyarko seized the opportunity to thank all farmers gathered for their efforts in feed their families and the country at large.

Mr. Benjamin said with the introduction of the PFJ program both phase I and phase II by government, farmers can testify that Ghana does not depend on any country to supply us with food.
He stresses that with PFJ phase II what a farmer need is Land to be able to cultivate, and government is ready to support.
He emphasized that the current government have come to support farmers in many ways to improve their livelihood.
He urges farmers to support the leadership of this country, and the Member of parliament for Techiman South Hon. Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah for the kind gesture.

He concluded with a prayer to God for good rains to enable farmers cultivate and get good yield to feed mother Ghana.
