Commissioning of six-unit classroom block at Fiaso
The building is completed and has been handed over for use by the three basic schools in the community, which are Fiaso M/A Basic A, B and C. The project was done under the Government’s Resetting Agenda to solve the lack of classrooms, because many of the pupils were learning under trees.
The programme was attended by the Chief of Fiaso, Nana Kwadwo Ameyaw II, who represented the Omanhene of Techiman, Osaadeyo Ekumfi Ameyaw IV and Nana Kesse Basahyia, the Deputy Director of Education in charge of Finance and Administration, Mr. Stephen Aidoo, Assembly Members, head teachers and teachers from all the Fiaso M/A schools, and community members.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Kwaku Adjei Mensah thanked all the dignitaries and especially the contractor, Pablo, for doing a good job. He said the chiefs of Fiaso told him about the poor state of school infrastructure and how pupils were struggling to learn, so he was happy that the Assembly has been able to provide this support. He said this school project is one of its kind in the Techiman Municipality.
He explained that the school has six classrooms, six modern WC toilets for pupils, a special changing room for girls to take care of themselves during their monthly period, an office for the head teacher with its own WC, a common room for teachers with a separate WC, a storeroom, a library and a computer lab. He said the school also has a mechanized borehole to provide water and new single and double desks for the pupils. He said the building will be used by all the three schools in Fiaso and will help improve teaching and learning.

She also asked teachers to continue working hard to give quality education to the children and called on parents to send their children to school, since government basic education is free.
