In adherence to the Sports ACT, 2016(ACT 934 section 23 and 24), the MCE, Hon. Benjamin Yaw Gyarko on Thursday 10th August, 2023 sworn in a 7-member Committee to oversee the development of sports in the Municipality.

He charged them to formulate Sports policies and programmes for the Assembly and as a matter of urgency prepare and submit their annual sports budget so that it can be factored in the Assembly’s Composite Budget.
He urged them to immediately take steps to re-roof some spectators stands at Ohene Ameyaw park which are in deplorable state.

He pleaded with them to sacrifice and commit themselves to the task as they have been carefully selected.

The Committee is chaired by Engineer Andrews Fosu, C.E.O, Eleven Wonders Football Club,
Mr. Isaac Amoah, Municipal Director, National Sports Authority (Secretary), Isaac Twene ( Representative from Municipal Education Office and P.E Coordinator, Mr. Joseph Frimpong ( Representative from the Assembly), Mad. Rashida Hassan. ( C.E.O, Fosua Ladies Football Club and Administrator of Ampem Darkoah Ladies), Mr. Baba Zibirim( F.A. Chairman, Techiman) and Collins Adu Gyamfi ( Media Sports Journalist).

He added that, the tenure of office for the Committee shall be 4years and they will be eligible for a 2nd term .

The Chairman of the Committee Engineer Andrews Fosu thanked the Assembly on behalf of the other members for the honor done them and pledged their commitment to deliver.
