The Techiman Municipal Assembly yesterday, 24th May,2023 held its 1st Ordinary meeting at the Bonokyempem Hall, Techiman.

In his sessional address, the MCE, Hon. Benjamin Yaw Gyarko disclosed to the House the projects that have been considered under the Urban Development Grant (UDG) III.
They include:
1. Upgrading of Saase and Gyaase roads
2. Upgrading of Millennium Park Roads phase 1
3. *Surfacing of Nana Awerempem street with two traffic signals installed at two major intersections *
4. The construction of Urban Park phase I and
5. Construction of two(2) Social Centres.

He added that extensive sensitisation has been done with all the stakeholders in the beneficiary communities for the project to take off.
He also mentioned that, approval has been sought from the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to advertise the projects through the Ghana Electronic Procurement System (GHANEP) of the Public Procurement Authority to enable eligible contractors to bid for the projects.

In other development, the Assembly also elected Nana Boakye Ameyaw Fentemfrem, Nifahene of Techiman Traditional Area as the new Presiding Member and he was sworn in by His Lordship Kojo Frimpong Manso.
