
The Minister for Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah yesterday November 11,2024 commissioned an ultra modern market for the people of Techiman.


The market which is popularly referred to as Nana Abena Market has 123 stalls, an Administration block with Police Post, Fire Service Post, Ambulance Service Office, a sickbay and other offices .
The facility also has 73 market sheds with concrete tables with locks and keys, meat shop and cold room as well.
It also has 2-storey block of shops eateries, washrooms and well constructed drainage system.
The market is also well fenced with good lighting system to ensure security in the market.

Addressing the well attended gathering, the Minister for Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development who also doubles as MP, Techiman South commended President Nana Addo and Dr. Bawumiah government for building such a facility for the people of Techiman.
He reiterated that the Nana Market was funded under government program called Ghana Secondary Cities Support Program (GSCSP) which is a loan facility contracted by the government of Ghana whose implementation commenced in 2019.
The Commissioning was witnessed by the MCE, Hon. Benjamin Yaw Gyarko, Nananom, Assembly members, the Clergy, journalists and political parties representatives.
