LIVING INCOME AND TREE CROP PROJECT
Yesterday, April 06, 2022, the MCE, Hon. Benjamin Yaw Gyarko handed over some farming equipment to the Agosa Cashew Farmers’ Cooperative Society to support their cashew farming activities.

This Cashew farmer group is among the six Cashew Cooperatives in the whole country selected to benefit from the Government flagship program dubbed Living Income and Tree Crop Project by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA).
Addressing the Cashew farmers, he commended the MP for Techiman South, Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah for his efforts to get Agosa Cashew Farmers’ Cooperative Society among the six Cashew Farmers’ Association considered for the project in the whole country.
He then advised them to put the items into good use so that they will be able to feed their households and achieve economic independence as the project seek to achieve.

The items included, pole pruners, mower,Tricycle( double axle type) and chainsaw.
Later in the morning, he again presented nursery equipment to two Farmers Groups from Tanoso and Biaanhyewo to undertake Cashew Nursery, budding, grafting, marketing and distribution of seedlings.
The inputs included polbags, 20 pieces of watering cans, 40 pieces of grafting knives, 40 pieces of hand trowel, 40 pieces of hand gloves, 20 pairs of wellinton boots, budding rubber, Cap rubber and Cashew seeds.
The two groups are estimated to nurse about 20,000 cashew seedlings each.

The MCE informed them that he will visit their sites to monitor their activities personally to ensure that the purpose of government investment in their livelihoods is achieved
Present at the presentations was the Municipal Director, Dept. of Agric, Mr. Adu James.
