On Thursday 20th August 2026, the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, together with Hon. Francis Owusu Antwi the Bono East Regional Minister, the Techiman Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Fredrick Akiti and the Presiding Member of the Techiman Municipal Assembly paid a courtesy visit to the Omanhene of Techiman Traditional Area, Osadeayo Ekumfi Ameyaw IV at his residence in Techiman.

The purpose of the visit was to formally inform the Omanhene about the Ministry’s intention to engage all tourist sites within the Bono East Region and the Techiman Municipality.

The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, explained that the government is committed to promoting community-based tourism and she said traditional authorities have a key role to play.

Osadeayo Ekumfi Ameyaw IV warmly welcomed the delegation and thanked the Minister for recognizing the traditional council. He assured the team of his full support, and said the traditional council is ready to partner with the government to promote tourism in the area.

In addition, the Omanhene expressed his willingness to release land to the government for the construction of a tourist centre or any other beneficial project that will promote the development of Ghana and Techiman in particular. He said this gesture is to help accelerate development and create job opportunities for the youth in the municipality.

The Minister thanked the Omanhene for his generosity and assured him that the Ministry will make good use of the land if the need arises for the benefit of the people and mother Ghana.

The meeting ended in a friendly atmosphere with both sides committing to work together.
