The Member of Parliament for Techiman South Constituency Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah together with the MCE, Hon. Benjamin Yaw Gyarko on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, Commissioned and handed over a CHPS Compound facility to the Municipal Health Directorate to commence operations in the Community.
The communities which stand to benefit from the services of the facility include Akisimasu, Aworopataa, Konkomba, Sereso, Anitenfe, Ebomso and Koforidua Sereso with the estimated population of over One Thousand (1000) people.
Giving a brief history to the facility, the Odikoro of Aworopataa, Nana Ali Kokroko said the construction of the building started way back in 2012 by the Community itself through the proceeds from an afforestation project the Community embarked.
He thanked the MP, Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah and the Municipal Assembly for completing the facility and resourcing it with hospital equipment for it to be operationalised.
Addressing the gathering, the MP, Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah acknowledged the contributions of the Chiefs and the Community through the partnership with government in bringing the facility into existence.
He urged the community to take good care of the facility and advised the Health workers who will be working in the facility to uphold to their professional ethics.
The MCE Hon. Benjamin Yaw Gyarko informed the community that, the facility is attached with a drilled borehole to provide water and urged the opinion leaders to make the necessary arrangement so the the entire Community can also fetch from it.
He added that, because the facility was abandoned for a period of time, it had some structural defects which caused the Assembly to do major renovation works on the building.
He said the Assembly has also added W/C toilet facility to the building which was not part in the original plan.
He mentioned the construction of a 3-unit classroom block with office, extension of electricity to the area , reshaping of their road and provision of a borehole in the community as some of the achievements of the government in the area.
In attendance were the Municipal Health Director, Dr.Kwabena Fosuhene Kissi, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Alhaji Hamza Inusah , the Constituency Chairman N.P.P, Mr. Muniru Tanko and his Executives and journalists.
Later in the day, the MP, Hon. Martin Adjei-Meansah Korsah handed over a toilet facility he refurbished at Tunsuoase Electoral area using part of his share of the Common fund to the Community.
