The Bono East Regional Minister, Hon. Francis Owusu Antwi has commenced a comprehensive inspection tour of development projects across the region, beginning with the Techiman Municipality on 8th September 2026, as part of efforts to assess the progress of ongoing projects, identify challenges and ensure that critical infrastructure is completed for the benefit of residents.
The inspection, undertaken in collaboration with the Techiman Municipal Assembly, covered a wide range of ongoing and legacy projects in key sectors, including education, health, housing, roads and market infrastructure. The exercise forms part of a broader commitment by Hon. Francis Owusu Antwi and the Municipal Assembly to strengthen project monitoring and ensure that public investments translate into tangible development for the people. Bono East Regional Minister, Hon. Francis Owusu was accompanied by Municipal Coordinating Director Mr. Fredrick Akitty, Bono East Regional Economic Planning Officer Madam Beatrice Kwartei Asare and other stakeholders.

Among the major projects inspected was the 24-hour market project in Techiman, which is expected to contribute to the municipality’s commercial activities and create an enabling environment for traders and businesses. The inspection team also visited the CHPS Compound with staff accommodation at Abirika, as well as the ongoing completion works on the Municipal Chief Executive’s residence.

The tour further took the team to Fiaso, where officials inspected a six-unit classroom block together with a mechanised borehole. Attention was also given to road infrastructure, particularly the gravelling and construction of culverts along sections of the road leading to the dumping site at Fiaso.
At the Techiman Senior High School (TESS), the inspection team assessed a number of educational infrastructure projects, including a two-storey 12-unit classroom block and an eight-unit semi-detached bungalow. These facilities are expected to enhance the teaching and learning environment while improving accommodation arrangements for staff.

The inspection continued at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Girls Senior High School, where officials examined an eight-unit semi-detached bungalow, a science laboratory and a modern administration block. The projects are part of efforts to provide schools with the infrastructure and facilities required to support quality education and improve the overall learning experience of students.

The inspection tour provided an opportunity for the Regional Minister and the Techiman Municipal authorities to engage directly with the progress of projects on the ground, rather than relying solely on reports. It also offered the authorities an opportunity to identify bottlenecks that could delay completion and to consider appropriate measures to address them.
The collaboration between the Bono East Regional Minister and the Techiman Municipal Assembly underscores the importance of coordinated leadership in ensuring that development projects are effectively monitored, completed on schedule and delivered to the communities for which they were intended.
As the Regional Minister’s project inspection tour continues across the region, the exercise is expected to provide a clearer picture of the state of public infrastructure, strengthen accountability in project implementation and help accelerate the completion of priority projects.
For the people of Techiman and the wider Bono East Region, the message is clear: development is not only about starting projects, but also about ensuring that investments made today are completed, functional and capable of improving lives for generations to come.
